Maxlife is an upgrade to OASIS Floral Foams. Effective March 7, 2010, all Smithers-Oasis items containing floral foam (mache sympathy forms, cages, bouquet holders etc) will be upgraded. Only Advantage Plus is not affected by the upgrade. This is because Advantage Plus is formulated to perform like other 'premium' floral foams on the market.

Maxlife is the only floral foam that may be considered a true 'care & handling' product. Maxlife provides longer life for flowers - up to 50 percent longer than any previous floral foam. Maxlife is the only floral foam in the industry proven through independent research to meet or beat flower life in a vase of water. Maxlife provides an important and unique benefit - maximizing flower life - that addresses the #1 desire of consumers who purchase flowers.

Maxlife is not the addition of flower food to the floral foam. Maxlife is effective regardless of whether a florist uses floral food or not, but it is more effective with floral food, just like flowers in water or any other foam.

Flowers are living things and show a great deal of variation even within a cultivar. The Maxlife effect varies depends upon a flower's cultivar and condition. The Maxlife effect is especially pronounced in flowers that traditionally do not do well in floral foam: alstroemeria, tulips, hydrangea, gerbera, certain rose varieties etc. All flowers benefit to some degree and none are harmed.

Florists are very sensitive to the 'feel' and stability of floral foam. Extensive (very extensive) testing has been done to make sure that the change in formulation does not affect these qualities of OASIS floral foams.
